WIN NUMBER FIVE FOR KURT FEARNLEY IN THE CHICAGO MARATHON

Newcastle’s Kurt Fearnley has claimed a remarkable fifth win in the Chicago Marathon.
Starting in front of a field of 45,000 runners, Fearnley battled against a pack of fellow wheelchair athletes all the way to the finish line.
“I was side by side with an American athlete, Aaron who’s a good mate of mine, we clashed elbows a few times … everything you have is going into pushing fast.”
His busy schedule didn’t leave him with any time to celebrate.
“I’m on a flight about 3 o’clock this afternoon, I have to get back to Sydney … back for New York in three weeks.”
Fearnley will be gunning for his sixth win in the Big Apple.
