DOG SAVES OWNER FROM DEADLY SNAKE
She’s been dubbed Lake Macquarie’s ‘super dog’.
Seven-year-old foxy, Molly, is credited with saving her owner Tina from a red-bellied black snake at Booragul yesterday.
“Tina was going up to our other dog Bruno who was carrying on up the top and Molly dived in front of her and next thing she’s flinging a snake around in her mouth.”
During the tussle, Molly was bitten, but is thankfully on the mend.
Veterinarians say the warm weather has resulted in a spike in the number of snake and tick bites in the Hunter.
They’re warning pet owners to be vigilant, and seek treatment as soon as possible.
“If we can get the treatment started the earlier the better, we’ve got a much better chance of saving that pet.”
