The Knights’ NRL side had the bye this weekend, but there was a timely boost in the club’s New South Wales Cup game, with Kiwi international Jeremy Smith returning from a sternum injury.
Smith came off the bench in the 48 points to 14 win over the Sea Eagles, getting through the game unscathed.
Meanwhile, new signing Damian Sironen made his first appearance in red and blue, since moving to Newcastle from the Tweed Seagulls.
