ORICA TRUCK DRIVERS WALK OFF THE JOB

Truck drivers who deliver explosives to Hunter Valley mines have walked off the job for a four hour stoppage over Enterprise agreement talks with explosives producer Orica.

The protected action , conducted by the TWU (Transport Workers Union) is part of ongoing negotiations with Orica over the roles of drivers who deliver the product and also shot firers who set up the explosives on mine sites.

Mines affected include Mangoola, Bengalla, Muswellbrook Coal, Mt Owen, Glendell, Rix’s Creek, Bloomfield, Mount Thorley Warkworth, Mount Arthur, Draytons, Bulga, Ravensworth North and a number of sites covered by Hunter Valley Operations.
