RAIL LINE CUT AND REPAIRED
The Newcastle rail line was cut at Wickham on Sunday ahead of the Boxing Day schedule. Shortly after, the line was welded back together.
The cut was to signal the beginning of changes to the railway.
Hamilton Station received ten cabins installed in preparation to be used by the New South Wales TrainLink Staff.
Approximately 150 staff will be on site from December 26, over a two-week rail closedown, to carry out upgrades and prepare for trains to terminate at Hamilton station.
The Transport Minister has told NBN News the final train will leave Newcastle Station at 11.24 on Christmas night.

the first thing i noticed was the young bloke with the gas axe had no oxy cutting / welding coat on–bare arms—he was good on the axe but i thought those occupational health & safety issue went ten years or more ago.
