ABC CUTS RUN DEEP IN NEWCASTLE

The cuts run deep in Newcastle, with radio 1233 set to lose around a third of its staff.

It will be downgraded to a regional ABC station, losing funding, back-office support, and several high-profile presenters.

    ABC management have elected to retain the layers of management who contribute little to the final on air product of ABC radio and TV.

    The ABC employs many people in handsomely paid jobs with job descriptions that simply do not exist in their counterpart national broadcasters overseas or locally with commercial entities. These are the costly people who should go.

    Everyone in the ABC and many outside are well aware of the ‘bloatocracy’ that exists within the ABC.

    ABC management have protect their own at the expense of audiences and cleverly attempted to shift the focus to make the government look evil rather than themselves.
