EACH HOUR CRITICAL IN SEARCH FOR WILLIAM TYRELL

Police say each hour is now critical as they ramp up the search effort for a three-year-old boy who went missing on the Mid North Coast.

William Tyrell was last seen at around 10:30 on Friday morning, playing in the front yard of his grandmother’s home at Kendall.

The search – now in its fourth day – has involved police, SES personnel, volunteers and surf life saving volunteers, who have combed nearby bushland.

Extra police from Sydney and Newcastle have also joined the effort.

“A three-year-old child is full of adventure and we want to ensure we’re able to locate him safely,” said Mid North Coast Superintendant Paul Fehon.

“We want to concentrate on doing an extremely thorough search.”

Crews are focusing on a 1.5-kilometre radius around the home.

At this stage, police are “keeping an open mind” as to whether William may have been taken.
