OXBORROW AND JETS PART WAYS

The Newcastle Jets have parted ways with teenage midfielder Mitchell Oxborrow.

In a short statement this afternoon, Jets management said Oxborrow will return to Perth “to attend to personal matters and be with his family.”

The former young Socceroo came to Newcastle two years ago, but only saw limited minutes in the A-League.

He was once described by former coach Gary Van Egmond as having the best passing game in the Jets midfield.

Oxborrow played for the Jets as recently as Wednesday night in a practice match against Juventus
