PROMISING SOCCER PLAYER DIES DURING GAME IN SYDNEY

Tributes are flowing for a promising young footballer from Coffs Harbour who died suddenly on the weekend.

24-year-old striker Kodjo Adjassou collapsed from a suspected heart attack while playing for the Bankstown City Lions.

Officials from his former club, the Coffs Coast Tigers say he was an outstanding player.

Club President David Wilson says,”His last year with us he was awarded the Golden Boot by North Coast Football for scoring I think 38 goals for the club and he put us into the grand final that year.”

Funeral arrangements are still being finalised.

The Coffs Coast Tigers are trying to raise funds for Adjassou’s African refugee family.
