BARBARIANS PREPARE FOR ENGLISH UNIVERSITY

The build-up to the Lions clash continues tonight, with the Newcastle Barbarians set to take on Durham University at Number Two Sportsground in around 45 minutes.
For Hamilton’s Nick Palmer, it’s a chance to make up for lost time, after the second rower missed out on this year’s representative campaign because of injury.
“I haven’t played against an international side before so this is a big opportunity for me.”
Despite the Barbarians being the underdogs, coach Scott Coleman wants his side to have some fun against its English opponent.
“The only kicks we can do is attacking kicks, so it’s going to be a running game of football, he wants us to throw it around and play really attacking.”
