A 36 year old man has been charged with murder after allegedly punching and stomping on a man in Tweed Heads earlier this month.
Gareth Mullaya Lewis didn’t appear in Lismore Local Court today where the prosecution upgraded his assault charges.
It’s alleged he bashed 46 year old David Mitchell at a Dry Dock Road home on July 1.
Mr Mitchell was driven to Tweed Heads Hospital before being transferred to the Gold Coast – where he died yesterday.
Lewis didn’t apply for bail and will re-appear on October 2nd.
