Peel Valley irrigators can breathe a sigh of relief heading into summer.
The Department of Water and Energy has announced water allocations for general security licence holders will increase from 55 per cent to 80 per cent, while groundwater users have been given their full entitlement.
The decision follows extensive rainfall in spring, with Chaffey Dam sitting now just two per cent below its capacity.
The dam hasn’t been at that level since 2002.
